Job Title: CAD Technician

Located in West London, our manufacturing facilities are home to skilled craftspeople and technical designers, merging traditional craftsmanship with deep furniture knowledge.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remote CAD Technican to transform our existing library of technical CAD drawings into visually appealing drawings optimised for use on our website. These drawings will display key dimensions such as height, depth, width, seat height, arm height, and back height, providing clear and concise product information for our customers. You will be required to edit our existing CAD files to create collections.
This role is specifically focused on furniture manufacturing & construction, so experience in the furniture manufacturing & furniture design is industry is essential. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our design to ensure all drawings meet technical requirements and brand aesthetics while being compatible for online use.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Converting existing 'technical drawings' or 'line drawings' into simplified 'website drawings.
- Take existing technical CAD drawings from our library and convert them into simplified website-ready drawings.
- Clearly display standard dimensions such as height, depth, width, seat height, arm height, and back height.
- Maintain consistency in style, dimensions, and clarity across all simplified drawings.
- Review and revise drawings as needed to ensure they align with evolving brand standards and product updates.
Collaboration
- Work with the design team to ensure the simplified drawings maintain aesthetic consistency and technical accuracy.
File Preparation & Optimisation:
- Prepare and export CAD drawings in web-friendly formats while maintaining clarity and precision.
- Ensure drawings are lightweight and optimised for fast loading times across devices.
Documentation & Asset Management:
- Organise and maintain an updated library of simplified drawings for website use.
- Provide clear documentation and guidelines for the use of these assets.
Qualification, Skills & Experiences:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop
- A strong understanding of furniture manufacturing & construction, enabling you to independently open, review, and work with our existing CAD files to complete tasks efficiently.
- Experience in optimising CAD drawings for online use, including knowledge of web-friendly formats.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in displaying dimensions.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage large libraries of drawings.
- Strong communication skills for remote collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Job Type: Full Time - Permanent contractual role
Standard hours of work: 45 hours, over 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm
(Not fixed can be changed depending on the requirements)
Normal place of work: Remote
