Position Overview

At Barkyn, we're building the future of pet wellness, and communication plays a critical role in this journey. As CRM Lead, you’ll be responsible for owning our customer communication strategy, managing end-to-end retention initiatives, and building scalable programs that drive lifetime value and customer happiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of CRM and lifecycle marketing campaigns;

  • Own all retention flows across email, SMS, and push notifications, optimizing touchpoints throughout the customer journey;

  • Manage and mentor a small team of CRM specialists;

  • Collaborate with Brand and Product to ensure messaging consistency and personalization at scale;

  • Deep dive into customer journey and retention analytics to guide improvements and experimentation;

  • Use platforms like Klavyio (ideal), ActiveCampaign or similar tools to build high-converting flows;

  • Partner with Data to build segmentation strategies and customer behavior models;

  • Monitor key CRM KPIs (e.g. CLV, churn, open/click rates) and report regularly on performance;

  • Contribute to copywriting and creative processes, especially where brand tone-of-voice is critical;

  • Stay updated on best practices and emerging CRM trends.

Skills

Mandatory: Minimum of 6 years of experience in B2C businesses, with 3+ years focused on CRM;

Proficiency in email marketing platforms (ideally Klaviyo) and marketing automation tools;

Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to optimize customer journeys;

Leadership skills, with experience managing a small team;

Experience working at a startup environment (<200 employees);

Native Portuguese or Spanish speaker; fluent in English.

Nice to have: Experience at a DTC company selling physical products;

Background in copywriting and/or branding;

Living within 1 hour of Porto;

Dog owner (we’re all about that furry life!).
