The Construction & Plant Documentation department plays a vital role in enabling safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction activities in wind turbine projects. With an experienced team of approximately 20 employees and consultants, we are committed to delivering high-quality technical documentation essential for Construction from pre-installation and installation to commissioning and decommissioning.
Our core responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation (T09) for the Construction phase and for Plant products
- Operationalizing the documentation strategy to ensure optimized use of systems, work with modularized documentation content and streamline documentation processes. All this to ensure efficient and effective execution of the documentation deliverables
- Engaging in virtual and physical verification of documentation to ensure high usability and compliance with safety standards
- As we expand our scope to cover Plant products as well, we are building a team that can create Plant documentation, aiming to elevate its current maturity and ensure it meets the same high standards as our Construction documentation
- The user of the documentation is our priority, and we aim to empower the user with the right information at the right time-digitally, accurately, and safely
Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager, your responsibilities will involve leading the Construction & Plant Documentation department, facilitating the creation of of high-quality technical documentation that aligns with the requirements of Construction and Plant functions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver Documentation: Ensure timely delivery of scoped documentation deliverables that meet defined quality standards and project timelines
- Build and Lead a High-Performing Team: Develop and grow a diverse team of technical writers, illustrators, editors, and documentation leads into a cohesive unit
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement business improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of documentation processes and outputs
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the department's strategic game plan in alignment with broader business goals
- Collaborate Across the Value Chain: Support the development of the Value Chain Services Management team and encourage effective cross-functional collaboration
- Resource and Capability Planning: Plan and manage team resources and capabilities to meet current demands and future growth opportunities
- People Leadership and Development: Inspire, lead, and develop team members to unlock their full potential, cultivate a sense of belonging, and promote well-being.
Qualifications
To be effective in this role, you bring a robust mix of leadership, project and execution mindset, and end-user focus. The ideal candidate will have:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Technical Communication, Business Administration, or a related field
- Leadership Experience: Effective leadership in leading multidisciplinary global teams, within technical documentation, engineering, or product development environments
- Strategic and Operational Mindset: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans while managing day-to-day operations effectively
- Effective Communication Skills: Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across functions and levels
- Digital Fluency: Familiarity with digital documentation tools, content management systems, and digitalization strategies in a technical context
- Resource and Capability Planning: Experience in workforce planning, talent development, and building efficient teams
- People-Centric Leadership: Motivated by the development of people, creating team belonging, and promoting a healthy and inclusive work environment

Additional information
This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal, and requires up to 20 travel days per year.
