MEDIA STUDIES TEACHER (PART-TIME)

Prime School International, a well-established group of international schools operating in Portugal since 2008, is seeking to appoint a passionate and skilled Media Studies Teacher to join our dynamic team in central Lisbon.
Our school follows the Cambridge International Education curriculum, and we are committed to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and innovation through inclusive and engaging teaching practices.
This is a part-time position for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a creative and technically proficient educator who can inspire students across IGCSE and A-Level Media Studies. The ideal candidate will have both subject expertise and the ability to lead practical and theoretical lessons in film, digital media, communication, and media production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Media Studies lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Teach key areas such as media language, representation, industry, and audience.
- Guide students in practical media projects including video, photography, editing, and online content.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and creative classroom culture.
- Stay up to date with current trends and tools in media and education.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Media Studies, Film, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Teaching qualification or demonstrable teaching experience in Media Studies (Cambridge curriculum experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in media tools and software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Canva, etc.).
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level or higher).
- Ability to inspire and engage secondary-level students in both academic and creative contexts.
Job Type:
- Part-time, with flexible scheduling to be defined.
- Start date: September 2025.
