For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for an Industrialization Manager with a strong focus on Process Engineering and Tooling Development, ensuring the effective transition of new products from prototype phase to mass production. The role encompasses the coordination of local prototyping, continuous improvement, and master data management, while working closely with stakeholders across the group, including R&D, other manufacturing sites, and central engineering, to ensure industrial robustness, technological consistency, and cost efficiency.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:
1. Ownership of Industrialization Activities
· Drive the industrialization of new products from prototype phase to full-scale production.
· Ensure manufacturing readiness by defining, validating, and optimizing production processes.
· Coordinate local prototyping activities when required.
· Guarantee technical documentation and process qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) in compliance with group and industry standards.
2. Cross-site & Central Collaboration
· Act as the local liaison for industrialization topics with central engineering, R&D and other plants.
· Contribute to group-level initiatives such as technology harmonization, best practice sharing and joint tooling development.
· Lead or support cross-site industrial projects, including complex equipment or product transfers.
3. Process & Methods Engineering Management
· Manage the local team of process and methods engineers that supports production with continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and new process introduction.
· Ensure structured and consistent creation and maintenance of product and tool master data (in SAP or equivalent ERP system).
· Promote and implement lean manufacturing principles.
· Keep the PFMEA’s updated and relevant
4. Tooling Development & Cost Optimisation
· Lead the team responsible for designing and developing production tools and fixtures.
· Ensure tool readiness for new products, as well as ongoing improvement of existing tooling.
· Build and maintain a cost-effective and reliable tooling supplier base, in coordination with central procurement if applicable.
5. Project & Change Management
· Lead or support industrial projects with significant organizational impact (e.g., new product lines, transfer of production, equipment installation).
· Manage project scope, timing, resource allocation, and risk mitigation locally, in alignment with group objectives.
THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:
· 5 years of experience in an industrial company (mechanical, process, or automation industries preferred).
· Solid knowledge of industrialization, tooling, process development, and prototyping.
· Experience managing technical teams.
· Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP), especially in master data.
· Familiarity with ISO 13485 or equivalent quality systems (EN 9100, IRIS is a plus).
· Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
· Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory; French is a plus.
· International collaboration experience is a strong advantage.
