ROLE SUMMARY:
Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura (CIV) is the leading educational institution in the South of Portugal, offering a prestigious blend of national and Cambridge curricula from Pre-school through Secondary Education.

We are currently seeking a Middle School English Teacher to join our international section in September 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum and international best practices
- Build foundational literacy and communication skills through creative and interactive teaching approaches
- Foster a love of reading and writing, encouraging students to express themselves with confidence and originality
- Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and language proficiencies
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments, ensuring clarity of expectations and continuous academic progress
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects that enrich student learning
- Contribute to a positive classroom culture that values inclusion, curiosity, and respect
- Participate in extracurricular and enrichment activities that support holistic student development
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with trends in English education and middle years pedagogy
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A relevant university degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a related field
- A recognised teaching qualification and experience teaching English at the middle or lower secondary level (Cambridge curriculum experience is an asset)
- A deep understanding of language acquisition and literacy development in diverse, international settings
- An engaging and reflective teaching style, committed to inspiring young learners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic school environment
- Confidence using technology to support and enhance student learning
- A commitment to student wellbeing and to CIV’s values of responsibility, respect, and curiosity
- Fluency in English; the ability to communicate in Portuguese is a plus
