Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for a Financial Analyst, to join our award-winning team based in Porto, Portugal. This is a fast paced, highly progressive career opportunity for a maverick who excels in business economics and analysis. Responsibilities include financial modelling, financial forecasting, internal financial reporting, operational planning and analysis, revenue-producing contract analysis and cost budgeting.
We envisage success in this role to include;
- Evaluating and analysing a variety of financial results and indicators such as capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records and financial statements.
- Recommending actions that may be taken to improve financial results, building financial models, forecasts and creating project cost budgets.
- Compiling budgetary and fiscal data received from assigned departments to prepare revenue balance statements and historical comparisons of departmental expenditures with requested appropriations.
- Analysing records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses.
- Assisting in preparation of special studies, analysis and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, and business forecasts.
- Retrieving and organising data into required reporting formats to provide a basis for comparison and evaluation.
- Preparing reports analysing specific aspects of department structures, functions and operational procedures and recommends ways to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness.
- Ensuring invoices for professional and reimbursable fees are recorded under proper project numbers.
- Assisting business divisions with accounts receivable follow up, reporting and analysis.
- Assisting with direct labour, direct cost and budget variance analysis.
- Ensuring proper allocation of direct costs to projects.
- Performing adhoc reporting and analysis and other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will bring minimum of 5 years' career experience partnered with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent. Masters level qualification preferred.
- Previous experience working for a Real Estate Fund, Real Estate Developer (investment department) or Real Estate Consulting firm with project evaluations experience.
- Big 4 experience
- Real estate investment experience would be advantageous.
- CFA 1 or CMA 1 or equivalent mandatory.
- Advanced Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to effectively interact at all levels and throughout the business.
- Strong presentation skills.
- High level of communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
