BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Environment, Health and Safety Intern (M/F/D) at our production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the monitoring and continuous improvement of the three implemented management systems (Health, Safety, and Environment);
- Assist with the organization and execution of administrative tasks within the HSE department, due to the increase in headcount and production lines;
- Collaborate in the flexible monitoring of production activities, including rotating support across all three shifts (morning, afternoon, night), in coordination with the HSE team;
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards according to the level of responsibility and under the guidance of the HSE team;
- Help verify compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements related to environment, occupational health and safety, quality, and productivity;
- Comply with internal company rules and regulations, including the Code of Ethics, internal policies, and working schedules;
- Promote and respect workplace safety, hygiene, and organizational rules;
- Support additional tasks outside the main scope of the internship when needed, in alignment with the service needs and for professional development purposes.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed academic training in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field;
- Interest in developing skills in HSE within an industrial environment;
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sense of responsibility;
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset;
- Availability to work in rotating shifts is a plus;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Knowledge of applicable HSE legislation is considered an asset.
