Efficio is looking for an experienced and commercially-minded in-house Employment Lawyer to support our growing HR function. This person will act as a trusted partner to the People leadership team, Executive Committee, and key stakeholders by providing strategic, operational, and compliance-related legal advice on employment matters across multiple jurisdictions. The role reports to the Head of People/HR with a dotted line to the General Counsel, and will help shape Efficio’s approach to people-related legal risk, governance, and global policy frameworks.
Responsibilities
Advise on employment law matters across the UK and other relevant jurisdictions (e.g., EU, MENA, US, Mexico) with a focus on delivering timely, pragmatic and risk-informed guidance.
Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and the C-suite on organisational change, restructuring, and culture-related legal issues.
Partner with HR on proactive risk mitigation and people governance, including employee relations, performance management, and internal investigations.
Support with the design and enforcement of employment contracts, HR policies, incentive schemes, and global compliance standards.
Stay abreast of legal developments in employment law and update internal policies accordingly, including advising on the impact of regulatory change.
Manage employment-related litigation, including pre-litigation dispute resolution and oversight of external counsel for contentious matters.
Advise on whistleblowing, ethics, codes of conduct, and related compliance frameworks.
Provide legal support in the context of M&A, corporate restructuring, and global mobility, including employment due diligence and integration planning.
Coordinate with local counsel across multiple jurisdictions to ensure consistent and legally sound advice in cross-border scenarios.
Collaborate closely with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams on legal reporting, KPIs and People-related governance and controls.
Requirements
Qualified solicitor in an EU jurisdiction (including the UK) with 4+ years PQE in employment law.
Must have trained at a Top 10 global law firm, or have in-house employment law experience within a Big 4 firm, MBB consultancy, or similar global organisation.
In-house experience preferred; cross-border and multi-jurisdictional expertise essential.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver solutions that balance legal risk with business outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with senior leadership and operate in a matrixed, fast-paced business.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work autonomously with sound judgment and integrity.
