With offices in Canada, Portugal, Spain and Sweden, we are continuously expanding, along with our team. Currently, we are recruiting for a Corporate Lawyer.
As Corporate Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing legal advice and support to our senior management and project development team. You will be responsible for negotiating and drafting various types of agreements, including land leases, and construction contracts. Additionally, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate legal risks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide legal advice and support to project development teams across all stages of renewable energy projects
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, land leases, EPC and O&M contracts
- Support legal aspects of project development strategies, from land acquisition through to financial close and construction
- Conduct legal due diligence on renewable energy projects, including review of permits, contracts, and corporate documentation
- Advise on regulatory, environmental, and permitting issues relevant to renewable energy development
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (engineering, project management, commercial, etc.) to ensure legal compliance and effective risk management
- Manage and coordinate external legal counsel as needed, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and consistency
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the renewable energy sector and assess their implications for ongoing and future projects
REQUIREMENTS:
- Law degree from a recognised university
- Minimum 5 years of professional legal experience, preferably with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, or project development
- Solid experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Good understanding of regulatory and environmental frameworks relevant to renewable energy projects (knowledge of Iberian or Nordic markets is a plus)
- Member in good standing of the Portuguese Bar Association (mandatory)
- Fluent in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency is a strong asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple matters simultaneously, and operate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
