The Engineering (Tech) Team is responsible for all Feedzai product development. Together with Product Management and Data Science, we build the next generation of tools to catch fraud in real-time with a machine learning first approach. While building the best value for our customers, you will work with a wide range of technical challenges. Such as building distributed systems that need to operate 24/7 and ultra-low latencies, solving UI/UX problems to help fraud analysts to fight fraud more efficiently. In addition, designing extensive databases from relational, NoSQL and graphs, validate and develop new data science techniques and algorithms.

If you are passionate about authentication, authorization, system integrations across multiple platforms and developing API’s this may be the job for you.
You’ll be part of Feedzai’s Identity and Account management team and responsible for building and maintaining systems that handle user authentication, authorization, and account lifecycle management. They design and implement secure login and access flows, manage user provisioning and de-provisioning, integrate with identity providers (e.g., SSO, OAuth, SAML), and ensure compliance with security and privacy standards. Our work ensures that users can reliably access the right resources while protecting the platform from unauthorized access, ultimately balancing usability with strong security practices.
Your Day to Day:
- Work iteratively within our agile teams to develop our products and underlying technical frameworks
- Design, develop, and maintain authentication and authorization services using Java and Go.
- Implement and optimize identity protocols (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML).
- Build and manage APIs for user provisioning, account lifecycle, and access control.
- Integrate applications with internal and external identity providers (e.g., SSO, LDAP, social logins).
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure system reliability and prevent regressions.
- Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues related to authentication and account systems.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance and security best practices (MFA, least privilege, encryption).
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
- Optimize system performance and scalability for high-traffic authentication flows.
- Stay updated on new security threats, IAM standards, and industry practices.
You Have & You Know-how:
- BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, or a similar technical degree
- 3+ years of experience building Java backend software or similar
- Strong programming skills in Java and Go.
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, SAML).
- Experience with RESTful APIs and/or gRPC.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and caching (Redis).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of security fundamentals (encryption, hashing, certificate management).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams with product, security, and operations.
Preferred/Valued Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Knowledge of directory services (LDAP, Active Directory).
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures and modern security models.
- Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
- Background in high-availability and distributed systems design.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA).
- Contributions to open-source IAM frameworks (e.g., Keycloak, Dex, ORY Hydra).
