Overview
The Kolen’ko Research Group, with research focus on unconventional nanomaterials, is dedicated to answering fundamental questions of chemistry, catalysis, and materials science in important energy and environmental challenges.
We’re looking for a Research Assistant to be part of our team and work in the GreenAuto Agenda under the PRR framework.
Job Duties
The job duties will be the following:
- Develop and optimise functional coatings and inks for photovoltaic applications (e.g., printed solar cells);
- Design and formulate other functional coatings, including self-healing, anti-corrosion, or protective coatings;
- Apply coating techniques such as spin coating, spray coating, and dip coating;
- Characterise coatings for mechanical, chemical, optical, and electrical properties;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor coatings for specific applications.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- MSc in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering.
Experience and Technical Skills
- Experience in formulating functional coatings and inks for advanced applications;
- Solid background or demonstrated knowledge in self-healing materials and smart coatings;
- Proficiency with various coating and deposition techniques, such as spin coating, screen printing, spray coating, and dip coating;
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in material characterisation methods.
Other Valued Skills
- Knowledge of polymer chemistry and nanomaterials.

- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently;
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative team player mindset, effectively working within multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong communication for reporting and presentation, and interpersonal skills;

How the Selection Process works
A. Applications eligibility check

The Selection Committee will evaluate the eligible applications based on their CV and other submitted documents and the suitability for the position. The best ranked candidates will be shortlisted for the interview stage(s).
C. Interview(s)
The interview(s) may be done in different formats: video recording, online or onsite.
The question based interview will evaluate the match between the candidate’s profile and the requirements for the position, including the technical and personal skills. To better support this stage, the candidate may be requested to prepare a short presentation.
D. Nomination
The selected candidate will be nominated and formally offered the position, including the disclosure of the contractual conditions.
