Job Description
Since December 2024, the Vantiva Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team has been re-organized and is part of the Group Compliance & Sustainability function, led by our Chief Compliance & Sustainability Officer. This wider team drives Vantiva’s efforts in ensuring compliance, managing risks, and advancing sustainability across all aspects of operations. The Organization is made of 3 centers of excellence, each focused on key strategic areas:
- Corporate Sustainability & Risk Management, ensures reliable Sustainability reporting while managing Compliance & ESG risks effectively.
- Product Sustainability, is responsible for embedding sustainability into our product lifecycle, this team works to deliver innovative, environmentally friendly solutions that meet our customers' needs.
- Privacy, AI, and Security Compliance, focuses on navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of data privacy, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. This team ensures compliance with global standards, safeguard trust in our technologies and physical security requirements.
These 3 teams collaborate closely to ensure a seamless integration of compliance and sustainability efforts across the Vantiva organization. Together, they help drive meaningful progress in these critical areas, ensuring our resilience and relevance in a fast-changing world
- Main mission
The EHS Specialist is part of the Corporate Sustainability & Risk Management team which is also composed of one Social and CSR Management Controller, and one Compliance Manager. All 3 roles report directly to the Corporate Sustainability & Risk Management Director who further reports to the Vantiva Chief Compliance & Sustainability Officer (a member of the Executive Leadership Team).
The mission of the Corporate Sustainability & Risk Management team is to work hand in hand with the Product Sustainability team with a special focus on Environmental matters and with other departments (including Sourcing, HR) as well as with different site Managers/leads. The main mission of the role is to help drive the environmental roadmap of the Group and ensure accurate and timely reporting over environmental matters in the context of heightened compliance with European standards and best practices.
- Main roles and responsibilities
- Administer environment reporting campaigns using internal tools for the collecting of information from sites covering energy consumption, water consumption, waste (+90% non-industrial)
- Assessment of the materiality of sustainability issues, review of related policies and indicators, review of the internal control framework
- Upstream in the value chain: own the Supplier Environmental Risk Management process (covering data collection and monitoring for Pollution, Water consumption, Waste, Energy consumption, Recycling, Carbon emissions, Public commitments and rating, RBA and Supplier Quality Assurance audits…)
- Own the preparation of annual calculation of GHG carbon scope 1 & 2 and being point of contact on the topic during annual CSRD audit
- Implement and manage green electricity contracts for Group sites (90% non-industrial sites)
- Co-lead the annual Ecovadis assessment process ensuring accurate and timely completion of the required questionnaire
- Support Product Sustainability team with the annual scope 3 calculation as required
- Update the annual Sustainability Statement CSRD disclosure for ESRS E1 - Climate change (mitigation and adaptation) and point of contact for annual external audit
- Contribute to the development of the Group Climate transition plan and required annual updates
- Support Product Sustainability team with the preparation of the annual CDP submission
- Answer any customer questionnaire related to environmental matters in collaboration with the Product Sustainability team as appropriate
- Downstream in the value chain: WEEE / End of life handling obligation management including declaration of activity by country, review and timely payment of local partner WEEE related invoices
- Contribute to proper internal policies and procedures and updates to risk control matrices
Qualifications
Education
Master/Bachelor’s degree in:
- Environmental Science
- Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Environmental)
- Environmental Health or related fields
- Sustainability
Experience
2–5 years in an Environmental role within (preference for):
- Semiconductor fabs
- Electronics manufacturing
- Software or hardware R&D labs
Core Competencies
- Regulatory compliance with: WEEE, CSR, Carbon emissions
- Sustainability and EHS integration:
- Reporting carbon emissions, waste diversion, water conservation
- Supporting corporate ESG goals
- Technical writing: policies, procedures, reports
- Comfort with data analytics for Environmental performance (Excel, Power BI)
- Familiarity with incident tracking and reporting systems
- Experience as a corporate sustainability/ESG practitioner, focused on sustainability/ESG, or consultant with a track record in corporate sustainability/ESG reporting and disclosure
- A deep knowledge and understanding of sustainability/ESG issues and related reporting trends, drivers, standards and frameworks
- Should be familiar with sustainability/ ESG reporting standards and regulations, e.g., CSRD / ISSB / SASB / TCFD / California Climate Rules etc.…
- Knowledge of European Green Taxonomy
Soft Skills
- Leadership and collaboration, especially in cross-functional teams: collaboration with Facilities, HR, Finance, Sourcing
- Strong communication and training skills (remote and in-person)
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Analytical, able to work in data-driven, fast-paced environments
