Your Crew
This is a unique opportunity to leave your mark on pioneering space projects:
Be a founding member of the SaaS Journey at Beyond Gravity as you help us build its first MVP and lay foundations for our downstream applications. As the key member of our dev team, you will own the backend and work with a small team to build a high-performance, real-time tracking application and ensure end-to-end performance and scalability. You’ll work closely with a senior engineer to implement secure, scalable backend services. Over time, your work is expected to extend beyond this project as we aim to build an entirely new software family.
Your Mission
- Develop and maintain the backend for Space Situational Awareness data processing with real-time ingestion
- Implement secure APIs for orbital analysis and technical payload information as you Integrate, design and maintain external data sources
- Ensure BE services are testable, modular, and scalable as you collaborate with other engineers to expose insights
- Implement logging, monitoring, and error handling as you conduct performance tuning and optimization
- Participate in architecture design and documentation and agile ceremonies to drive technical excellence
- Support on-premises deployment and configuration when needed
- Maintain compliance with data security and access policies
Your Story:
Must have:
- Master’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering or related technical field
- 2+ years of experience as Backend dev (Node.js, Python/FastAPI or Rust)
- Acquired knowledge and proven experience with:
- API security, authentication (Azure AD or Keycloak is a plus)
- containerized environments (Docker, Docker Compose)
- RESTful API design and integration (Kafka and Spring Boot)
- We’re looking for someone who is curious, adaptable, detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and team-oriented.
Nice to have’s:
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics and geospatial data
- Experience with LLM APIs or local models
- Exposure to On-Prem or air-gapped software dev
- Startup mindset in line with a constant work-in-progress environment with rapid changes and high pace
