Ray.BBDM is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Project & Operations Planning Manager for a client operating in the oil and gas production and extraction industry. This is a key position that will support both project and operational planning activities, with exposure to large-scale initiatives and corporate-level planning. The role offers the opportunity to work across multiple functions in a dynamic environment, ensuring schedules and operations are optimised and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning), identifying critical paths, milestones, and potential delays.
- Support project managers and engineers with scenario planning, schedule risk assessments, and recovery strategies to ensure on-time delivery.
- Integrate contractor schedules into overall project plans, monitoring performance and ensuring consistency across stakeholders.
- Contribute to short- and long-term operational planning (maintenance, shutdowns/turnarounds, improvement projects), aligning activities with operations, maintenance, and production teams.
- Consolidate planning data across functions and assets to support corporate-level reporting and strategic planning. Provide input to business plans, forecasts, and strategic reviews, ensuring alignment with KPIs and corporate objectives., forecasts, and strategic reviews, ensuring alignment with KPIs and corporate goals.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Up to 10 years of planning experience in the oil and gas industry (upstream or downstream).
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Solid understanding of planning principles across different stages of project and operational lifecycles.
- Ability to identify and manage critical paths and schedule risks.
- Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Earned Value Management (EVM) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under tight deadlines
