Job Description
Position Summary
The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for supporting the management of a fleet of 4 expedition ships and 1 classic cruise ship. This corporate role involves assisting with crew recruitment, payroll management, operational coordination, and HR support on board.
Main Responsibilities
Support in Recruitment and Selection:
- - Assist in developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for the crew.
- - Participate in interviews and selection processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and maritime regulations.
- - Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
Payroll Management:
- - Support the processing of crew payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor regulations.
- - Help resolve any discrepancies or payroll-related issues.
- - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of crew payments and benefits.
Operational Coordination:
- - Assist with the logistics of crew embarkation and disembarkation, including transportation and accommodations.
- - Manage the crew on MXP Program.
- - Ensure all crew members meet training and certification requirements.
- - Support communication between the corporate HR team and onboard departments.
HR Support Onboard:
- - Provide support to HR managers onboard, assisting with conflict resolution and performance issues.
- - Assist in implementing development and training programs for the crew.
- - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of onboard HR policies and procedures, suggesting improvements as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Administration, or related fields (or currently enrolled).
Experience:
- - 2 years of HR experience as a generalist HR or managerial position
- - Preferred but not excluded experience at least 1 year of seagoing experience onboard
Skills:
- - Strong English written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- - Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the company.
- - Proficiency in MS Office.
- - Attention to detail.
- - Problem-solving skills to find solutions to challenges that arise.
- - Analytical thinking, capable of breaking down complex problems into manageable parts.
Knowledge of Maritime Regulations: Familiarity with maritime labor regulations and required certifications for the crew is a plus.
Needs to have STCW-certificates or willing to obtain the certificates prior to the employment due to scheduling onboard (is a plus)
Availability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
