We are looking for a Shared Accounting Manager – AP to join our Group Accounting team in Porto. This is a strategic and hands-on role, responsible for managing the accounting and tax processes of central entities while leading a small team and contributing to key finance transformation initiatives.

What you will be doing
- Own the accounting processes for our central entities, including IT, Marketing, and G&A cost centres.
- Prepare and submit all Portuguese tax declarations, such as VAT, Modelo 22, IES, and SAF-T.
- Coordinate tax-related matters in Dubai in collaboration with external consultants.
- Review monthly P&L and trial balances to ensure accuracy and compliance with group deadlines.
- Oversee vendor reconciliations, payment execution, and supplier support activities.
- Support and guide the implementation of our new procurement tool (purchase portal).
- Proactively identify process improvements, and drive automation initiatives using AI tools.
- Lead and coordinate a team of 2 accounting professionals, ensuring development and efficiency.
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing required documentation.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to validate and control IT and G&A-related expenditures.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, accounts payable, and Portuguese taxation.
- Strong technical knowledge of Portuguese tax law and reporting obligations.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably NAV.
- High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with automation or AI-driven tools is a plus.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead, delegate, and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
