The Engineering (Tech) Team is responsible for all Feedzai product development. Together with Product Management and Data Science, we build the next generation of tools to catch fraud in real-time with a machine learning first approach. While building the best value for our customers, you will work with a wide range of technical challenges. Such as building distributed systems that need to operate 24/7 and ultra-low latencies, solving UI/UX problems to help fraud analysts to fight fraud more efficiently. In addition, designing extensive databases from relational, NoSQL and graphs, validate and develop new data science techniques and algorithms. Data and Data Engineering is at the heart of what we do.
You:
The Senior Manager of Engineering role requires an engineer at heart who is able to lead and guide engineering teams to deliver Feedzai products. The role requires deep technical knowledge that enables you to challenge teams and bring out the best in them. You will be responsible for building top-notch engineering teams and driving their execution.
As Senior Manager of Engineering you will lead a product line responsible for developing Feedzai’s Data Engineering product. Technically, this product deals with challenges around large volume data, diverse data sources (internal and external), data orchestration and transformation, and integration of an ecosystem of external and internal data providers into a cohesive whole. The product is used directly by end users, ranging from Data Engineers, Business Analysts and Data Scientists.
While the Feedzai Orchestration Solution has several applications wherever there is data wrangling and orchestration needs, the north star use case is Account Opening. This product allows financial institutions to onboard new clients safely, as they subscribe for the very first banking product and throughout their lifecycle as a customer of the bank.
As the entrance to the bank, Account Opening protects the institution and legit customers against critical risks such as identity theft or synthetic identities. Moreover, it is the first layer of protection against the proliferation of mule accounts, used to move funds originated in fraud with the goal of laundering it.

- Architecture evolves towards a decoupled, microservice-based architecture, positioning it to scale efficiently in a multi-tenant, cloud-native environment. This effort is central to Feedzai’s long-term vision and product evolution
Your Day to Day:
- Manage up to two engineering managers and teams from execution to performance and career management. Ability to work in an international structure, including Australia.
- Guarantee that our product strategy and execution delivers strategic business goals
- Foster a “dynamic duo” relationship with Product Management as a key tool to drive collaborative value creation
- Work together with the rest of the Product leadership structure on driving roadmap strategy and direction; includes ownership of the direction for your assigned area as well as fostering alignment with peers.
- Be the two-way bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating the language, concerns and needs of both groups in order to enable a clear and feasible plan and execution
- Own the growth of your engineering teams by collaborating with our Talent Acquisition team
- Helping to influence and push the engineering culture to encourage quality deliveries and continuous improvements
- Lead by example not being afraid to take risks and go beyond what’s expected
- Own roadmapping from an engineering perspective as the most critical process of the planning responsibility; you are the pivot in the Engineering dept and to guarantee that all needs (e.g. capacity planning, cross-team dependencies), challenges, problems and risks of execution and known
- Work with peers and VP of Engineering on identifying opportunities of improvement for engineers (e.g. training, lack of skills, leveraging existing skills);
- Act as a coach and mentor to other roles (technical and non technical) in the organization, specially the assigned product area
You Have & You Know-how:
- 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- 7+ in data engineering systems
- MS, preferred in Computer Science
- Already managed teams and managers/tech leads
- Ability and are able to present ideas to both the non-technical and technical audiences
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, adaptability, problem-solving, and critical thinking
- Experience with international environments, including geographically distributed teams
Preferred/Valued Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in creating and operating Data Engineering projects or products, and associated Data Engineering technologies (eg Scala, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow, and similar)
- Experience working on projects that move quickly and have ever-changing processes and structure
- Be solution-oriented, and when issues arise, be able to roll up your sleeves and tackle them with a ‘get it done’ attitude
- Team player with a clear focus on taking the performance of teams to the next level
- Experience working with Generative AI (GenAI) tools is a plus.
