About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Technician ensuring compliance with statutory health, safety, and environmental (SHE) requirements according to Flora Food Group’s corporate guidelines. In this role, you will be responsible for advising on SHE regulations, helping to implement safety systems, and promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
You will:
- Work both in the office and on the shopfloor, providing guidance to others on how to work safely without causing harm to themselves or others.
- Collaborate with the management and delivery teams to advise on statutory health, safety, and environmental (SHE) requirements, ensuring alignment with Flora Food Group’s corporate guidelines.
- Support the management team in implementing both legal and company-specific SHE requirements.
- Contribute to the development, review, and monitoring of safe systems of work; deliver training sessions (e.g. toolbox talks and inductions); investigate incidents; analyze data; and report findings to the management team.
- Engage with all areas of the organization to help embed a culture where everyone can return home safely each day, while also protecting and enhancing land, air, and water resources for future generations.
- Inspire and influence colleagues to work responsibly by understanding legal requirements and demonstrating how strong SHE practices can improve operational performance.
What do we expect from you?
You are an experienced SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) professional with at least two years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. Holding a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field, along with a CAP6 qualification, you bring both technical knowledge and practical insight to your role. You are proactive, agile, and highly organized, with the ability to multitask effectively and maintain strong focus. While you thrive in team settings and enjoy collaborating with others, you are equally comfortable working independently. Your communicative nature enables you to engage with stakeholders at all levels. Proficient in MS Office and Power Apps, and familiar with SAP (a plus), you are fluent in both Portuguese and English.
