Your new role
We are looking for a visionary and results-oriented Obesity Business Development Manager to speardhead growth and partnership strategies in the obesity space. You will play a central role in identifying and developing new business opportunities, building impactful collaborations, and accelerating access to innovative health care solutions.

Day-to-day your tasks will include:
  • Assess competitive landscapes and conduct market research analysis to uncover potential growth areas within the obesity sector. Accordingly, develop business cases for new business opportunities
  • Establish strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, private clinics and health solutions companies to enhance our value proposition across the northern and central regions of Portugal
  • Develop BD projects from strategy to implementation towards maximising private opportunities and our Obesity portfolio business growth
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution

Please note this role requires extensive travel (around 70%) across the northern and central regions of Portugal to establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare organizations.

Your new department
You will be part of Novo Nordisk’s Portugal Cardiometabolic Marketing Team operating at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and partnership. Our mission is to reimagine care models in obesity and cardiometabolic disease by building bridges with healthcare providers, grounded in trust, data and a shared commitment to improving lives.

Your skills & qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, life sciences, or a related field (MBA or similar is strongly preferred)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or strategic partnerships in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Proven track record of identifying and securing innovative commercial opportunities
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen with experience developing business cases and navigating market dynamics
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken

Experience in the obesity or cardiometabolic therapy area and consultancy background will be considered an advantage.
In addition, you bring strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present strategic business models and influence decision-making at various levels. Your consulting mindset (including diagnosing market scenarios and crafting tailored business solutions) will be a key asset. You combine strategic vision and market insights with the drive to innovate, adapt, and explore new ways to deliver value.
