Position Summary:
As a Hostess at our upscale English pub in Estoril, you will be the first impression of the experience we offer. Your main responsibility is to warmly and professionally welcome guests, manage reservations, and coordinate guest flow efficiently, ensuring an elegant and inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service, as per company standards.
- Manage reservations, waiting lists, and table assignments using the reservation system.
- Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems and keeps Manager on duty informed.
- To be in correct uniform and to maintain standards of appearance in accordance with the company’s grooming standards.
- Ensure that guest name is used at all times.
- Advises guest with overview of menu concept and assist with recommendations.
- Prepares for service ensuring all relevant mis-en-place is ready prior to service.
- Assists service team as necessary to meet and exceed the guests’ expectations.
- At the end of shift ensure that all relevant stations are ready for the next shift.
- Adhere to shifts allocated as per business demands.
- Be aware of all health and safety regulations regarding department and Hotel.
- Attend all training sessions as required.

Key Skills and Requirements:
- Technical Service Skills... Demonstrate an understanding of the technical service skills for assigned area (i.e. food & beverage service)
- Point of Sales… Skilled in utilization of point of sale systems.
- Upselling… Know the available products and services and suggest alternatives.
- Basic English required; Portuguese is a plus.
