About the role
- Our Development & Data Factory team is integrated in the Digital Technology (DT) department.
- As a Database Administrator, you will ensure the robustness, scalability, and efficiency of the organization’s data platforms.
- You will be accountable for:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitoring and tuning database systems to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Managing database security by implementing access controls and encryption measures.
- Overseeing data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity.
- Performing routine audits and maintenance tasks to maintain database health.
- Collaborating with development teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions.
- Supporting migrations, upgrades, and the implementation of new database technologies.
- Ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Managing the overall database access controls, including the authorization to technical teams.
- We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode.
About you
- Relevant education degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management or a comparable field.
- Relevant work experience in Database Administration or IT systems management.
- Competencies:
- Expert in managing and maintaining relational database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Deep knowledge of database architecture and design principles to optimize performance and scalability.
- Extensive expertise in database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical data.
- Advanced proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts.
- Experienced in implementing database security measures, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting database performance using tools like SQL Profiler, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or equivalent solutions.

About the pay and benefits
- Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary country (Portugal) base pay reasonably expected for this role is 38 960 euros to 58 400 euros, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
