As an Accounting General Ledger Manager of an International Group, you will play a key role in overseeing the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the general ledger function.
This role includes supervising daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with IRFS, preparing key financial reports, supporting audits, continuous process improvement and providing guidance to team members.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, to support the company's financial goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the preparation and posting of general ledger journal entries and ensure alignment with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
- Review and validate reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end close reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of audit schedules and assist in responding to auditor inquiries.
- Identify and recommend improvements to financial systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Oversee team deliverables and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
- Guide and support team members within the general ledger team through coaching and review of their work.
Requirements
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
- Experience in a similar role and ability to work independently and lead team members effectively.
- Chartered accountant registered at Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (mandatory).
- Advance knowledge in financial software and systems, spreadsheet and data analysis tools (SAP and Excel preferred).
- English and Portuguese language skills in speaking and writing, further language skills desirable.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- High level of accountability and accuracy.
- Steadfast communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced international business environment.
