Who We Are:
We believe that open-source software, open standards and APIs are the greatest transformational tools for organizations in the modern software development era.
Our mission at Diagrid is to provide developers with APIs and tools that help them focus on their code and not on infrastructure. As online digital services need to handle more load and run on multiple clouds or on-premises environments, programming to higher level abstractions delivers consistent, secure and reliable code that is easily portable and helps organizations de-risk their projects.
Diagrid is founded by the creators of the Dapr and KEDA open-source projects, and who led the user experience, design and development of hyper-scale infrastructure cloud services, serverless platforms and open-source projects at Microsoft. Dapr has now achieved graduated status within the CNCF, joining renowned projects like Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Istio.
We are backed by top VC firms and supported with industry leading investors and advisors including Joe Beda (Kubernetes Co-Founder, former Co-Founder / CTO at Heptio) Matt Klein (Creator of Envoy, Lyft), Mark Russinovich (CTO, Microsoft Azure), William Morgan (Creator of Linkerd, CEO Buoyant), Seth Vargo (Senior Staff Engineer, Google), Adam Gross (Former CEO, Heroku), Sri Viswanath (Former CTO, Atlassian), Adam Frankl (Dev Marketing Expert, Neo4J & JFrog), and Roopak Venkatakrishnan (Head of platforms, Bolt).
About the Role
Diagrid’s mission is to make building and running cloud-native applications radically simpler. We’re the creators of Conductor, a SaaS platform that automates and simplifies the operational complexity of running Dapr in production. From automated upgrades and certificate management to deep observability and cost optimization, Conductor empowers developers to focus on features instead of managing infrastructure.
We’re a distributed, collaborative team with deep experience in developer tools, distributed systems, and open-source software. We believe in using the right tool for the right job while leaning on open-source standards and cloud-native best practices.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team building Diagrid Conductor. You’ll work across the stack to design, build, and operate core features that help our customers run Dapr and Kubernetes-based systems at scale. This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be deeply involved in product architecture, performance optimization, and delivering a best-in-class developer experience.
You will get to work on delivering cutting-edge features and improving the operational excellence of our services, bringing industry best practices to monitor, remediate, and prevent incidents.
You are a great fit if you love operational excellence as much as building new features, while tackling the challenges of complex distributed systems.
Responsibilities
Design and build new Conductor capabilities, from backend services to frontend user experiences.
Develop features around Dapr operations, Kubernetes orchestration, observability, and cost optimization.
Integrate with cloud provider APIs and Kubernetes APIs to automate operational workflows.
Work with Go and cloud-native tooling to deliver secure, scalable features.
Collaborate with product, design, and support teams to deliver customer-driven enhancements.
Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement of our engineering practices.
Contribute to system reliability by owning features end-to-end—from design and testing to deployment and monitoring.
Mentor other engineers and share expertise in cloud-native development, distributed systems, and SaaS product delivery.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in designing and building distributed systems
2+ years operating a public cloud service or platform in production
2+ years of experience with Go
2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker or other container based systems
2+ years of experience with Google Cloud or similar cloud provider
Solid understanding of computer science principles with a focus on distributed systems
Excellent communication skills
Ability to mentor early-career engineers
Bonus: experience with Dapr
