About This Role
As an Oracle Application Database Administrator in OutSystems R&D, you’ll be a member of the group of teams responsible for maintaining and evolving the capabilities of our platform, in the context of database management.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations
- Collaborate with development teams to design, implement and improve the usage of the database by the platform and applications, and enforce database best practices embedded into our development practices;
- Analyzing and optimizing database performance, including query/index tuning, analysis of execution plans, and resource utilization;
- Monitoring database health, designing and executing maintenance plans, and implementing disaster recovery procedures for critical databases;
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to other team members;
- Stay current with the latest database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot calls from 2nd/3rd line of support, infrastructure and development teams, ensuring the problem doesn’t get any worse and, of course, resolving the reported issue.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar;
- 6+ years of experience in database administration with a primary focus on Oracle;
- Strong knowledge of database administration in SQL Server is a plus;
- Oracle and SQL Server certification are a plus;
- Knowledge of database administration with MySQL and PostgreSQL is not mandatory, but it is welcome;
- Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, etc);
- Solid experience as a DBA in managing large-scale, mission-critical Oracle database environments;
- Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies;
- Strong knowledge of database disaster recovery solutions;
- Proficiency in database security best practices and compliance requirements;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues;
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English;
- Leadership skills with a collaborative mindset;
- Drive to innovate and bring development best practices into your team;
- Drive to understand what are the upcoming technologies and frameworks;
- Coding skills in C# (general knowledge about development with .NET) are a plus, with an emphasis on using these skills for database solutions.
