What are we looking for?
As an Application Security Researcher, you will be a part of the Checkmarx Application Security Research Team of the Security Research Group. You will be researching different languages, technologies, and software vulnerabilities, finding 0-days, and improving our code scanners. You will collaborate with security specialists, analysts, and developers to improve Checkmarx’s AppSec solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Research different security facets of multiple programming languages and technologies.
- Perform security code review and analysis of results produced by Checkmark’s AST solutions.
- Analyze code containing various vulnerabilities written in multiple languages.
- Transfer application security expertise into practical ideas that can help improve AppSec tools (SAST, SCA, DAST, etc.).
- Support developers and relevant stakeholders on information security topics.
Requirements
What is needed to succeed?
- Adept in application security – Deep understanding of security concepts, vulnerabilities, mitigations, and coding practices.
- Security work experience in a professional environment - Security research, web application penetration testing, secure development, security code review, or other similar fields.
- Familiarity with both interpreted and compiled languages.
- Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies independently.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to drive collaboration and innovation.
- Ability to handle multiple requests and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in English – both writing and oral presentation skills.
