Job Description
We are looking for a Mid-level Mainframe Programmer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mainframe technologies, including DB2 and JCL, and will be proficient in both English and French. This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe applications to meet business requirements and improve operational efficiency. Experience in the banking sector is a valuable asset that will enhance your contribution to our team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system enhancements.
- Monitor and optimize performance of mainframe applications and databases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe systems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for programs, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Support end-users by providing technical assistance and training as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in mainframe development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in mainframe, specifically with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Availability to travel abroad for short periods of time, if required
- Good level of English - minimum B2 (mandatory);
- Good level of French - minimum B2 (mandatory);
- Availability to come to the office 2 days per week (flexible);
