We are looking for a Product Manager with experience in managing software products, and a track record in stakeholder management and product strategy, to join our EMEA team.

thoughtbot partners with organizations of all sizes to design, develop, and grow their software-based products and services.

Product management brings together these critical elements: business understanding, user experience, customer success, team management, and technical delivery.

thoughtbot is a fully remote company and this is a position on thoughtbot’s EMEA team. Because we're looking for teammates who overlap with our clients' teams working hours, candidates are required to live in UTC-1 through UTC+3.

Locations & Compensation:

This is a fully remote position and is open to applicants currently living in and authorized to work in the following locations: Ireland, Nigeria, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and United Kingdom.

Requirements

thoughtbot Product Managers are able to lead and manage the rapid design and development of high-quality, test-driven applications.

Well-qualified candidates will know:

  • How to conduct market/user research
  • How to analyse market research to identify business opportunities and create product strategy
  • How to translate product strategy into more detailed requirements
  • How to validate product ideas with prototypes and usability testing
  • How to lead and facilitate product design sprints
  • How to manage scope to keep a project on time and on budget
  • The major trends in software design, development, and business thinking

Very well-qualified candidates will also have experience with consulting, and a proven track record of attracting potential customers.

Position Details

As a product manager, you will:

  • Collaborate with clients and thoughtbot designers and developers to define and clarify product vision
  • Establish and continually adjust a product roadmap
  • Align product design and development to the business needs of the client
  • Support clients and team members through advising, Agile project management, and regular communication with all stakeholders
  • Ensure customer success through the lifecycle of the project, including helping with team onboarding, project delivery and offboarding.
  • Define customer-centred KPIs
  • Establish best practices around product management process & culture, including upskilling client teams
  • Collaborate with designers and clients to conduct and provide insights from customer and stakeholder interviews
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative feedback mechanisms to measure and improve product performance.
  • Assist directors to build product management services, frameworks, and best practices for thoughtbot
  • Assist Business Development on sales and scoping sessions
  • Bolster thoughtbot’s industry reputation through workshops, and curriculum development related to product management
  • Build relationships with partners that can enhance our product management services
  • Escalate delivery or commercial risks on client projects to the Managing Director

Benefits

Benefits vary by location, but all team members accrue at least 20 paid annual leave/vacation days per year and receive paid holidays and paid sick days. thoughtbot ensures at least 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for birthing parents, and at least 6 weeks of fully paid parental leave for non-birthing parents. All new parents have the ability to take up to at least 6 months off by combining different types of leaves. In addition to country-specific benefits, all team members receive a monthly remote work stipend to offset the cost of internet, electricity, etc., and a remote workspace budget to setup their workspace. Our team works in a relaxed and educational environment to develop excellent products for our clients. We work a sustainable pace of 40 hours/week. We also reserve at least 4 weeks per year for investing in ourselves, the company, and our community. Everything we do is predicated on having a great team and a culture of growing.
