Crossttaff is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join the team of our client, a leading company in the aviation industry. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and international environment, contributing to accurate and timely payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll in collaboration with the company’s payroll provider
- Recording and maintaining all relevant data for new and existing employees, ensuring timely payroll entries and updates
- Managing payroll-related reports and resolving payroll queries, including calculating and processing manual payments where necessary
- Continuously updating and auditing employee data across internal HR systems (e.g., HRIS, SAP, Jira)
- Supporting initiatives to automate and integrate data between multiple systems to improve efficiency
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements, aiming to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks
- Responding promptly and professionally to payroll-related queries from employees, managers, and relevant authorities
- Monitoring regulatory changes in labor laws and internal policies, and ensuring timely communication to stakeholders
- Preparing employment-related documentation such as contracts, amendments, and certificates of employment
- Contributing to the review and enhancement of payroll-related processes, policies, templates, and guidelines
- Supporting daily administrative routines, including data processing, issue resolution, and ad-hoc payroll tasks
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of practical experience with Portuguese payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of payroll best practices and dedication to service excellence
- Comprehensive understanding of local payroll regulations and compliance
- Fluency in spoken and written Portuguese and English
- Excellent organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
- Experience with SAP payroll systems is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and ability to quickly learn internal systems
