About the Role
The Investment & Capital Allocation Manager will be responsible for driving value creation through rigorous capital allocation across both organic and inorganic growth opportunities. You are an analytical and strategic professional with expertise and acumen in assessing businesses from an owner’s perspective, including an accounting and business planning angle. This role involves working with the Global Head of Strategy and M&A and will be responsible for evaluating and prioritizing capital expenditures (Capex) for existing business units, expansions across parts of the business and assessing potential acquisitions, ensuring alignment with our long-term strategic goals. You will also be collaborating with colleagues in the Strategy and M&A team and the entire company on M&A and corporate strategy work, in particular also with the Finance function.
Responsabilities
- Capex Evaluation
- Analyze and prioritize capital expenditure proposals from business units, ensuring optimal ROI and strategic fit, both for entire businesses and for parts thereof
- Investment Committee Preparation
- Work with the Global Head of Strategy and M&A to prepare and present investment cases and recommendations to senior leadership and the Investment Committee
- M&A Support
- Work across the team on M&A and related transactions, including financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for potential acquisitions and strategic investments
- Portfolio Optimization
- Continuously assess the performance of existing investments in accordance with strategic priorities and roadmaps and recommend growth investments, reallocation or divestment where appropriate
- Capital Allocation Strategy
- Help develop and maintain a robust capital allocation framework to guide investment decisions across the company for both transactional and organic opportunities
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Business Unit colleagues to align investment with strategic and business priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Fluent English (oral and written), other European languages a plus.
- About 5 years of work experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or a similar strategic finance role.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills. Including an understanding how Capex flows into (IFRS) accounting metrics and is captured in key Finance deliverables (budget, results, etc.)
- Proven experience in capital budgeting and investment decisions, both for organic and for inorganic opportunities. Controlling a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail.
- Strong business acumen and willingness to understand the business and its needs to best support the company’s growth and success.
