We are currently in search of a talented and experienced cook to join our team at an established restaurant situated in the heart of Setubal near the Praça do Bocage. The position is for a breakfast / brunch menu, starting with weekends and public holidays with the potential to expand to weekdays. Our restaurant already has lunch and dinner hours and there is the potential to do extra work during those hours but the primary focus is breakfast on the weekends. Likely hours would be 07:00 - 13:00.
The ideal candidate will have successfully completed a culinary internship as a cook and possess fluency in both English and Portuguese. Prior experience working in a breakfast kitchen and in a restaurant setting as a cook is of benefit but is NOT essential. Minimum qualifications for this position include a culinary school education as a cook and at least 2 years of experience working in a restaurant kitchen as a cook.
Primary responsibilities for this role encompass preparing and cooking breakfast and brunch dishes (eg: eggs, granola, toast/sandwich), adhering to recipes and menu specifications, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and consistently upholding food safety standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for cooking, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to excel in high-pressure environments.
