The role:
The Business Development Representative is responsible for educating, identifying, and engaging potential new customers. You will play a key role in tapping into market demand, uncovering new business opportunities, and using creativity and grit to yield maximum results. You will work closely with both the sales and marketing teams to generate interest in our solutions and build a great customer experience.
What you will do:
- Research and develop new company and contact lists, within target markets
- Proactively engage prospective customers to educate and persuade them about the value of our solutions and generate qualified leads
- Manage inbound leads to assess target market fit based on predefined qualification criteria and move them forward until they become qualified opportunities
- Schedule calls and meetings with prospective customers to advance the sales process
- Handover qualified leads to the sales team for further engagement
- Implement and continuously improve lead scoring and qualification processes to focus on the most promising opportunities
- Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to share insights, improve messaging, and refine outreach strategies
- Use our toolset to keep everybody updated (CRM, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo)
- Help meet and exceed sales targets, support strong team collaboration, and contribute to improving strategies
Requirements
What you must have:
- 1-2 years of experience in Business Development or a related field
- Ability and drive to develop and nurture a trustworthy relationship with prospective customers
- Strong business acumen and curiosity to understand manufacturing industry challenges
- Ability to identify customer needs and align them with solutions
- Excellent English skills – spoken and written
- Excellent active listening and questioning skills
- Confident and engaging presentation skills
- Proactive attitude toward learning, continuous improvement and finding creative solutions
- Experience working in a team and be an accountable team member
- Have an optimistic and resilient mindset – you acknowledge the losses, focus on the opportunities, and celebrate the wins
- Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (Email, Microsoft Office, CRM)
- Capacity to work effectively in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment
- Have an agile mindset – turning complex matters into simple solutions
What we consider a plus (not mandatory):
- Education in Marketing, Communication, Business, Sales, Software, or Industrial Management
- Experience using AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to support prospecting and improve efficiency
- German language
- Previous experience working with software solutions or in B2B technology sales would be great
