Job Description
Are you looking to kick-start your career in international trade compliance within a dynamic, global company? Vantiva is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Compliance team, specializing in economic sanctions and export controls. This role provides a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in a critical area of international law and contribute to Vantiva's commitment to responsible business practices.
Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will play a vital role in supporting Vantiva's compliance program, ensuring adherence to complex international regulations. This is an ideal position for someone with a keen interest in international affairs, law, and business ethics.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Apprentice in Economic Sanctions and Export Controls Compliance, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Research & Analysis:
Assisting in researching and analyzing economic sanctions programs (e.g., OFAC, EU, UK sanctions) and export control regulations (e.g., EAR, EU Dual-Use Regulations).
Monitoring updates from relevant government agencies and international bodies.
Preparing summaries and reports on regulatory changes and their potential impact on Vantiva's operations.
Due Diligence & Screening:
Supporting the team in conducting due diligence checks on third parties (customers, suppliers, partners) against denied party lists and sanctions lists.
Assisting in the review of transactions for potential sanctions and export control risks.
Policy & Procedure Support:
Contributing to the development and maintenance of internal compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Assisting in the preparation of training materials for Vantiva employees on sanctions and export control compliance.
Record Keeping & Administration:
Maintaining accurate and organized records of compliance activities, screenings, and assessments.
Providing administrative support to the Legal and Compliance teams as needed.
Ad-hoc Projects:
Participating in various ad-hoc projects related to international trade compliance, as assigned.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Law, International Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
A strong interest in international trade, economic sanctions, and export control regulations.
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluent in English (written and spoken) is essential. French language skills are a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and discretion.
