Role Overview:
As an Android Developer, you will work in a small, empowered team of 4 Android engineers, where you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the features you develop and the way you shape the app’s architecture. You’ll work in a data-driven way to add value to the business and contribute to long-term improvements in code quality and performance.
You will actively collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers from other disciplines to drive decisions and create meaningful experiences. You’ll also contribute to shaping the Android strategy and architecture at a company-wide level.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing new features and improving existing ones using modern Android tools
Maintaining a scalable and testable codebase using MVVM and functional paradigms
Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code
Collaborating with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions
Contributing to architecture improvements and Android platform initiatives
Drafting RFCs and opportunity proposals, identifying trade-offs and solutions
Qualifications:
Strong object-oriented programming skills
Proficiency in Kotlin and familiarity with Jetpack Compose
Solid understanding of the Android framework and MVVM architecture
Experience with Coroutines or RxJava
Experience with consuming RESTful APIs
Experience writing unit tests (UI testing is a plus)
Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and propose well-structured solutions
Willingness to support peers and contribute to shared development practices across teams
A passion for clean architecture, scalable systems, and great UX
